AUDIVOX is a pop duo based in New York City’s Lower East Side, crafting synth-driven songs anchored by soaring soprano melodies. Vocal-forward and immersive, their sound builds modern electronic worlds around the voice, melding cinematic scope with dynamic propulsion. A portmanteau of the Latin audire (“to hear”) and vox (“voice”), the name Audivox reflects the project’s sonic identity.

LILY MCATEER is Audivox's lead singer. Praised for her compelling and powerful vocals, her work has been called “near genius in her capacity to inspire” (Hardwick Gazette) and “beautifully, hauntingly evocative” (Nancy Collins of Rolling Stone).

As a repertory company member of The Mirror Theater (Sabra Jones-Strasberg, Artistic Director; Emmy-award winner Brian Cox, Co-Artistic Director), Ms. McAteer performed in Equity productions of Hamlet ("Ophelia," opposite her Audivox collaborator and husband Jones Charles McAteer as "Hamlet"), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (ibid), Carousel ("Louise"), and Kiss Me Kate (Dance Captain, Ensemble), choreographed Annie Get Your Gun (starring Tony-award nominee Marla Schaffel), and directed Disney's The Sleeping Beauty. She was mentored by Balanchine ballerina Patricia McBride, receiving the Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Merit Scholarship prior to graduation magna cum laude from The Ailey School/Fordham University BFA Program. Ms. McAteer also attended the Professional Actor Training Program at Maggie Flanigan Studio.

Ms. McAteer has collaborated with Justin Jacobs, former Director of Music at Melbourne's National Theatre, taught for New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey, and Mark Morris Dance, and originated work by Sidra Bell. Additional performance credits include Charlotte Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet, Buglisi Dance Theatre, and Opera Carolina.

JONES CHARLES MCATEER is the Artistic Director of Audivox, where he is the project’s primary composer, instrumentalist, and producer. Spanning Broadway to Bvlgari, his practice is guided by an interest in Gesamtkunstwerk, integrating image and sound into a cohesive whole.

He began his career in the original Broadway cast of Tony-award winner Titantic at the age of 9. Under the mentorship of Jeffrey Richards, Mr. McAteer was a producer on the Broadway productions of Spring Awakening, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Hair, and Superior Donuts. As Co-Artistic Director of The Mirror Theater (part of a triumvirate of artistic leadership including AD Sabra Jones-Strasberg and Co-AD Brian Cox of "Succession"), he directed Equity productions of Our Town, Carousel, Kiss Me Kate, and As You Like It. He also played "Hamlet" in Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

An avid collaborator, Mr. McAteer has worked closely with multidisciplinary artist Fabrizio Ferri, producing BREATHTAKING, featuring Isabella Rossellini, Willem Dafoe, Naomi Watts, and Sting, in Milan, Paris and the Venice Film Festival.

Mr. McAteer's training includes private study in violin with Midori and Yoko Takebe and voice with Denes Striny, a protégé of Birgit Nilsson. He holds a BFA from New York University Tisch. Additionally a photographer, his portraiture has been featured in HTSI and The Guardian.
